Samantha referred to “why people will wait a year+” to see films. Something else to remember is cost. While you can get to MANY $5 movie nights depending on the specials a theater chain might run, the fact is that if you don’t get a matinee, and if you’ve got say 5 family members – the cost to get out to see a film in the theater is an extravagancy that a lot of families are willing to jump in on.
