I gave the movie a “B” and thought it was great, even though Thor isn’t really a character that interests me (I watch because of the larger Universe connection). I’m pretty forgiving of plot/story flaws and was able to let a lot of the clumsiness there slip by, but the one thing that really didn’t work for me is the complete absence of SHIELD. Not because I wanted them there, but because they’ve constructed a universe where it makes no sense that they didn’t show up before the end of the movie. Did they really have no one monitoring Eric? Wouldn’t they have stepped in after he started running around Stonehenge nekkid? He was mind-*bleeped* by Loki and was having obvious after-effects, I think he would still be under *some* surveillance.
The wormholes – For the most part they worked for me and I didn’t overthink them (that popping around scene in the final battle was far more awesome than sloppy), but I did really have trouble with the initial one that Jane went through which…yeah…Plopped her right next to the Ether. How convenient.
