Ben and Daniel take on the Wolverine.

But is he the best at what he does? Or should Wolvie give up movie-making and stick to fighting ninja with his claws?

I waited until I had the DVD to watch this over Christmas and agree with your assessment of the film. I laughed a bit at the two people Danial had in the cinema and the give away was one ‘fell asleep’ and the other ‘read his Kindle’.
I enjoyed The Wolverine and felt that other podcasts were hard on it, probably expecting a different type of film.
Thank you for not being spoilery for those of us who wait until we see it at home. Keep up the good work.

I also enjoyed this film, and am thankful that SOMEONE else out there doesn’t think this is the worst piece of cinema ever recorded.
I’ll be honest, though… I always thought the “Wolverine becomes a samurai” stories were kind of lame, I mean dude is about as un-samurai as they come, might as well have Sabertooth learning the fine art of trebuchet manufacture.

I rewatched it in the field last week…and sent Ben a message reminding him that it is pretty solid.

Honestly, I don’t view this as him going full samurai, he does learn culture but really not enough to be samurai.

Oh, yeah, this movie was good in that respect. I have a buddy who has a man-crush/infatuation with the comic book character Wolverine, and I’ve read some of his compilations, one of which has Logan full-on bushido. My analog above was just wrong, I should have said that having Wolverine learn to be a samurai would be like teaching Juggernaut to use a battering ram.
