Original Sin #3 (Comic Files)

June 10, 2014 by Daniel Butcher 3 Comments

Original Sin #3

Preamble

So a guy with an eye for a head has the eye! But what special properties does the eye have? And did the Orb kill the Watcher?  And will we find out in Original Sin #3?

Situation Report

The Orb holds the eye and he uses it as a weapon against the heroes searching for the Watcher’s killer. The Orb triggers the eye like a bomb, releasing secrets. And everyone seems impacted. The Hulk wants to smash a friend. Some heroes disappear as they explore the revealed secret. And yet one man was not shown any secrets. Meanwhile, Fury’s agents follow trails under the Earth’s crust, in another dimension and in space tracking the shooter. For one team the search goes horribly wrong, leading to a shocking conclusion!

Level Seven Analysis

Wow, I did not see that coming. Yeah, the ending of this issue is pretty intense and shockingly shocking. I have some theories on where they could go from here. You know, how could they undo this ending. But I am also wondering if they would have the guts to stand behind it!

I want to say using an H level villain in the Orb is cool. And it’s alright! Really there is still someone in the background. And I have written in an envelope who I think it is. But honestly there is part of me that is hoping this story is not that predictable. But while I want to be excited about the Orb he feels like a distraction.

Secrets have consequences and in this story they are being felt. The Watcher saw everything and those images and secrets are recorded onto the eye. Seriously, heroes have fled after this bomb. They have secrets to investigate. Even a man without secrets saw something when the secret bomb blew.   It is shocking though how some of the most stand-up Marvel heroes have fled the battle. And it makes one thing about the power secrets hold over us.

Conclusion

Did I mention shocking ending. I really do not see how Jason Aaron will write himself out of this one. Wait a minute, it’s a comic book and there is always a Big Blue or a LMD lying around for when the writer needs one! I am sure it is all going to work out kids…right?

THIS is what I was hoping for when I started reading this series. Not only does this mystery get weirder with every issue, we now have an amazing cliff hanger. I can’t wait until the next issue come out!

I totally failed to mention, because I did not realize it, that the digital copy includes Original Sin: Secret Avengers Infinite Comics #2 with Coulson/Fury Jr. goodness!
